Alberta Pipe Trades College offers courses focused around the Plumber-Gasfitter, Steamfitter-Pipefitter and Welder trades.
Over the years, we’ve trained thousands of journeyperson members to qualify as Interprovincial Red Seal steamfitter-pipefitters, providing them with more employment opportunities, and our employers with a larger supply of skilled trades people.
Our instructors are qualified to teach a wide variety of subjects, including: basic pipefitting, bench fabrication, soldering/brazing, isometric drawing, steam tracing and polyfusion.
Our weld shop instructors are highly qualified in all techniques, metals and alloys. The shop provides B Pressure welding instruction, as well as pre-employment weld testing.
The rigging course that we developed—partially involving a training apparatus that is truly unique—has been adopted throughout the United States as the standard in all nuclear, coal and gas-fired power plant construction and maintenance. With the decline of US industrial construction activity and the coming of the construction boom in Alberta, our rigging program is now North America’s standard of excellence.
