
This NAUSC certification course provides students with technical information to safely and correctly operate, troubleshoot, and maintain controlled bolting equipment consistent with current field practices and ASME PPC-1.
Each student will:
• Review bolting standards and procedures
• Evaluate controlled bolting requirements & select the appropriate equipment
• Demonstrate correct equipment utilization (Manual, pneumatic & hydraulic torque wrenches, hydraulic tensioning equipment, and nutsplitters).
Training will include theory, practical experiences and student assignments. (16 hours classroom, 24 hours shop activities).
Classes run from Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
CERTIFICATION: On successful completion, each student will be issued a NAUSC certificate.
PRE-REQUISITES: Must be a registered Apprentice and a minimum of three (3) students are required for this course.
* PPE Requirement – CSA boots, gloves, safety glasses and a long sleeve shirt.
