The 36-hour Medical G.A.S. program will prepare pipe trades workers to install medical gas piping and give them the skills and abilities to complete work safely and securely in all forms of construction and maintenance operations in a hospital. This course will provide a minimum of:
- Classes run from Monday to Friday – 8:00 am – 3:00 pm
- 32 hours of classroom training.
- 4 hours of practical training. Prior to the online written exam, each student must pass a vertical and horizontal brazed joint practical test in compliance with the Medical Gas Code.
CERTIFICATION: CSA Group will provide the online written exam that ensures compliance to the CSA Z7396.1-17 Medical Gas Standard. The CSA/NAUSC certification is valid for five years.
EACH STUDENT IS REQUIRED TO PURCHASE THE CURRENT COPY OF CSA Z7396.1. THIS CODE BOOK IS AVAILABLE IN OUR BOOKSTORE.
PRE-REQUISITE: A Provincial or Red Seal Certificate of Qualification for Steamfitter or Plumber.
A personal email address is required as all CSA correspondence and program information is conveyed via email.
PPE: Safety boots, long sleeves, safety glasses. (Days 2, 3, and 4 are shop days)
